Living in Düsseldorf, Germany and Passavant, France.

After completing his Lehrzeit in joinery and carpentry under the supervision of his father Alois Moser, Wilhelm Moser studied at the Folkwang Schule, Essen and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam.

Moser commuted between Düsseldorf and Paris until 1984, when Andy Warhol encouraged him to move to New York and recommended him to the Charles Cowles Gallery. In 1985, Moser founded The Manipulator Magazin with David Colby a remit to: Showcase the work of known, unknown, lost, forgotten, living and dead artists.

He now splits his time between America, Germany and traveling to hard-to-get-to places.

Moser has exhibited at the Charles Cowles Gallery since 1983. He has also exhibited at the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, France; Creatis Gallery, Paris, France; Galerie Niepel, Düsseldorf, Germany; South Art Gallery, Miami, Florida; Galerie Gmyrek, Düsseldorf, Germany; Cube Art Center, Düsseldorf, Germany; Regina Nuessle Gallery, Miami Beach, USA; Galerie Schreier & von Metternich, Düsseldorf, Germany and Galerie The Box, Düsseldorf, Germany.

Moser published a limited edition portfolio of photographs entitled Terraces in collaboration with the Photographers Gallery, London, England. He also published Ville Tatouee in collaboration with Texbraun Gallery, Paris, France. In addition, Moser has published three books of his work, Ruinenbau (1988), Stone (2002).
